Unfortunately, we have had to CANCEL the event this year due to COVID concerns.

2021’s MHA ROCKS! - Surf’s Up was scheduled to be held on February 20th at Oak Harbor Clubhouse, featuring Florida’s #1 Jimmy Buffett / Tropical Party Band, The Caribbean Chillers. We were busy preparing to bust out our dancing shoes but instead of being transported to a sun-filled endless summer, complete with cheeseburgers in paradise, live music, and dancing, the MHA has decided it is in the public’s best interest to cancel our annual fundraiser this year.

Last year’s Second Annual MHA ROCKS! Event was, by all accounts, a massive success. The 200+ attendees (decked out in 1960’s British themed costumes) danced the night away with live music performed by BeatleBeat and helped raise over $100,000 for the MHA. As a nonprofit, we rely on our big events to help offset the costs of providing free screenings to Indian River County residents on a Walk-In basis. This year’s signature annual fundraiser, MHA ROCKS! - Surf’s Up, promised to top last year’s success, both in terms of attendance and in money raised, to help break the stigma surrounding mental health and help our community stay mentally healthy. As advocates for mental health, the MHA knows that physical health plays a large role in mental stability and given the pandemic, both are equally important. “We are quite disappointed to have to cancel the event; however, our community’s safety comes first, and we are looking forward to announcing the theme for next year's event,” stated Amy Wagner, MHA Fund Development Director. “In the meantime, we have the sincerest gratitude to our already-committed sponsors for continuing to support the MHA’s mission.” Sponsors for this year’s event include the Jake Owen Foundation, Toyota of Vero Beach, Uncle Louie G’s, Karen Black, Rehmann, Macata Stone & Tile Design, The MaCabe Foundation, Scott Nuttall, Anne Lanier & George E. Warren.
